| Our client is the world's leading provider of market research, information and analysis to the consumer products and services industries. They provide a wide range of products and services to various industries. Your primary responsibilities as Vice President, Marketing-Decision Support Services includes: define the Decision Support vision that meets the needs of USA and is still acceptable to International: understand business issues associated with peripheral technologies e.g.Database, internet, knowledge management, analytical, software development, technology fulfillment, SQA (10% of time) Work with other functional areas to refine vision and plan implementation: work with global counterparts to ensure synergy as well as work with segments locally to understand impacts and to further refine vision. You would also be part of evaluation team that will implement vision e.g global Nexus, Web Infrastructure, Factory Re-Engineering (20% of time) Business partner and relationship development: manage the plans that will create and maintain the necessary relationships required to fulfill the business and product vision (20% of time) Delivery of new products and enhancements to internal clients: manage the plans to create and/or purchase the software necessary to implement the vision, set and manage budget as well as provide business documentation, training, business policies and standards. In addition, you would develop business plans and sell internally, manage cross functional teams, define content requirements for future product integration, work with business segments to set and define development priorities (30% of time) Market Research and remaining 'current' with: Decision Support market, OLAP environment , internet, electronic communications, thoroughly understand new capabilities in the storage and delivery of content including content related analyses (10% of time) Leadership/Management responsibilities include: a) interviewing candidates for openings and make hiring recommendations b) make hiring/firing decisions c) orienting new employees in department as to the organization and department policies, and what is expected of them in the way of performance results d) training new employees e) establishing specific work goals or quantitative and qualitative standards to be achieved by a department or function f) recommending promotions, transfers, demotions, or discharges g) developing programs that have organizational impact beyond your immediate department h) leading project team work group or task force i) exercising discretion and independent judgement j) selling goods or obtaining orders or contracts for services away from the place of business.
