Our client is one of the largest, fastest growing and most profitable specialty retailers. They are now ranked within the top 5 out of the top 100 retailers offering assortments in their area of expertise. In 1995, Our client became part of a new independent retailing company consisting of 3 main retailers. In November 1996, they became a publicly held company and is now traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Our client expects the number of stores to increase nationally at a rate of 25-30 new store openings per year. Due to this outstanding growth, they are currently seeking a highly qualified Chief Information Officer with the following qualifications.

As a Chief Information Officer you will act as a business/technical leader and visionary, identify current and future needs to develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategic plan to support business objectives and multi-channel retail growth. Drive value for the consumer, shareholder and associate through the use of technology and business systems and processes that enhance the performance of the Company. Guide a group of technology professionals and the Company in all aspects of the IT function in today’s ever changing and emerging use of technology and systems thinking in the business process. Manage all aspects of IT operations, including infrastructure, operations, technical support, and applications development and vendor relationships. Develop and manage IT budgets, policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Previous Experience:

Candidates must posses 10+ years of progressive experience in information systems management (the top level or second level position) with rapid growth publicly traded companies. Candidate must also be a results-driven, high-energy strategic thinker with strong business acumen. Strong communication skills, along with the ability to build strong partnerships, educate, influence others and act as a change agent are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience with retail or consumer products companies (preferably international) as the companies have grown from 3 billion to 5+ billion in revenue. Other requirements include:

1 - MBA or advanced technology degree.

2 - Proven record of building, developing and managing a strong technical team.

3 - Ability to successfully function in a collaborative, yet challenging environment.

4 - Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
