Your primary responsibilities as (Sr.) Contracting Agent would include leading cross-divisional business teams in strategic planning, analysis and execution of consolidated purchase agreements that require evaluation of leading edge technology, extensive business opportunity and/or global application and coordination. You would integrate the supplier base with business processes and negotiate agreements to leverage their capabilities and volume. Specific job functions/duties of these opportunities include

• Negotiations-you would serve as chief negotiator-agreements may be global in scope
• Technical Ability-you would develop strategies and lead cross-functional teams through a high level understanding of technology, value-added engineering, industry and market conditions
• Quality & Supplier Productivity-you would pro-actively drive supplier productivity initiatives and jointly develop supplier quality road maps through the use of TQM principles;
• Teamwork-you would serve as a team leader/motivator who seeks communication and diverse viewpoints
• Sourcing Strategy-you would lead and facilitate cross-functional strategy formulation for a commodity, identify key milestones, and lead the team to accomplish business objectives
• Supplier Capability Management-you would anticipate market changes and use them to develop commodity plans that leverage supplier capability
• Integrated Supplier Management-you would lead cross-functional initiatives to link supplier capabilities to potential product development/enhancement opportunities and
• Material Focus-you would lead and facilitate cross-functional teams formulating material flow and logistics strategies to support manufacturing initiatives

In addition, these positions will require approximately 25% travel the first year-this is expected to decline to 15% in the second year once you are established in the field. The primary requirements include a four year degree in engineering or related technical area, several years of demonstrated success in consolidated purchase agreements, demonstrated leadership skills in communications, contract law, strategic planning and supplier relations, strong negotiation skills and a big advantage would be experience in global sourcing.
