The primary purpose of the Regional Switch Manager is to sell, promote and provide technical support for all of our clients Switch products within an assigned geography (New Jersey, Metropolitan New York, Pennsylvania over to Altoona and Delaware) through original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and/or distributors. In addition, you would be responsible for broadening the customer base and increasing penetration at existing accounts for these assigned products. The territory currently has sales of $500K (our client expects sales to double in 1999 in this territory).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell, promote, and provide technical support for assigned products by interacting with the sales force, established customers and developing new prospects. Works to meet or exceed published product sales quota.
Develops and implements a sales plan for assigned products within geographical area of responsibility.
In conjunction with field sales, calls on existing customers, calls on potential new customers to broaden customer base and product penetration.
Calls on new and existing customers to provide technical support and expertise on assigned product.
Provides sales and technical support to all sales channels
Assists the sales force and customers by providing information related to samples, quotations, technical support, part drawings, product specification, delivery dates, quality issues as required.
Keeps well informed on the technical aspects of all new assigned products and other general information of assigned product that would be of interest to field sales and customers.
Supports the clients TQM/ISO program by following approved policies and procedures.
Requirements/Preferences Qualifications:
Required:
3-5 years of field sales and/or technical support of Switch experience.
Interpersonal skills to effectively work with coworkers and external customers in a positive and effective manner.
Ability to work with all levels of management.
Strong organization skills to anticipate, plan, organize and self-monitor workload. Working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software.
Presentation skills that demonstrate the ability to prepare and deliver concise and effective presentations to customers as well as our clients personnel.
Preferences:
Bachelor's Degree-Bachelors in a technical field (BSME, BSEE)
Knowledge of Switch Industry.
Knowledge of existing customer base.
Sales skills to successfully negotiate and close switch sales opportunities.
Willing to travel, Ability to get things done through other people by persuasion. Ability to gain respect for technical expertise of switch product by field sales and customer base.
Self-starter, manage their own work load in a well organized and effective manner.
